building works at savona close proceed with an anticipated completion at the end of november 2016. the project is for the extensive remodelling of a 1960’s townhouse located on the south facing slopes of wimbledon hill. the house will accommodate a young photographer and his family (www.loganphotography.co.uk).

the changes were granted under the allowances for ‘permitted development’ and included the creation of a new top floor. the relative low height of the existing roof was made habitable by lowering the ceiling height at second floor. to reduce the impact of lowering the ceilings the new floor structure was left exposed and the windows were enlarged to form floor to ceiling openings with extensive views out over south london.
externally the dated and deteriorating wood cladding was replaced with a render finish and a cedar clad rain screen at the lower level.
